A beautiful Antique Suffragette lavaliere necklace from the early 20th Century (Circa 1910). The piece is lined with violet Amethysts, green Peridots and white Pearls with five fancy droppers which hold wonderful, irregular shaped Baroque Pearls in wire cages.
Together the colours of each stone pay tribute to the women’s Suffragette movement which took place in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which symbolised: Purple for Loyalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, or Give Women Votes!
The chain and droppers are fashioned in 15ct Yellow Gold and in excellent condition. It’s a fabulous design and a wonderful piece of history.
